4 lines · 2 speakers · 53 words

Alex Smith: Thanks for making the time, Sam. How does your team handle follow-ups after calls today?
Sam Lee: Mostly by hand, and honestly it slips in busy weeks.
Alex Smith: What does it cost you when it slips?
Sam Lee: We lost a deal last month because nobody replied for nine days.

The short answer

A VTT to text converter turns a subtitle file from Zoom, Teams or Google Meet into a clean transcript. Paste or open the file, and this tool strips timestamps and cue numbers, keeps the speaker names and merges each speaker's lines. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded. It is free.

Who it is for

Sellers and managers who have a transcript file from a recorded call and need readable text to review, share or run through the call analyzer.

How it works

  1. Paste or open the file

Open a .vtt, .srt or .txt file, or paste its contents. Formats from Zoom, Teams and Meet are recognised.

  2. Choose what to keep

Merge a speaker's consecutive lines into one turn, and keep timestamps if you want them for reference.

  3. Copy, download or analyze

Copy the text, save it as a .txt file, or send it straight to the call analyzer.

Frequently asked questions

  • A VTT file, short for WebVTT, is a plain text subtitle file. It lists short pieces of speech with a start and end time. Zoom, Microsoft Teams and many video tools produce one when they transcribe a call.

  • Open the file here or paste its contents, and the tool removes the header, the cue numbers and the timestamps. Copy the result or download it as a .txt file.

  • Zoom saves a .vtt transcript with a cloud recording when audio transcription is on. Teams lets you download the transcript from the meeting recap. Google Meet saves its transcript as a Google Doc, so copy the text from that document and paste it here.

  • No. The file is read and converted in your browser. Close the tab and it is gone.

  • Some tools write captions without naming who spoke. The tool then returns the spoken text on its own, in order, and the call analyzer needs speaker names to work.
