Used together
Axelize with Fathom
Fathom remembers the meeting. Axelize helps you win it.
The short answer
Yes, you can use Axelize with Fathom. Fathom joins the meeting, records it and sends notes and action items afterwards. Axelize reads the live captions and writes your next sentence while the buyer is still talking. Fathom's free plan costs nothing, so adding Axelize does not mean replacing it.
What Fathom leaves to you
-
The summary arrives after the moment has passed
Fathom is very good at telling you what was said. When a buyer raises an objection at minute twenty, though, the summary is still waiting for the call to end.
-
It starts when the meeting starts
Fathom has no pre-call research, so you walk in knowing what you remembered. Nothing has read the buyer's website or your earlier notes on the account for you.
-
Action items point at next week
A list of next steps tells you what to do later. It does not tell you what to say in the next four seconds.
How the two fit together
Who covers which job
A tick means the tool does that job. Where one of them leaves a gap, the other fills it.
| Capability | Axelize | Fathom |
|---|---|---|
| Notes for every meeting, sales or not | No | Yes |
| Summary and action items after a sales call | Partial | Yes |
| Research the account before the call | Yes | No |
| Write your next sentence during the call | Yes | No |
| Answer objections in your own voice | Yes | No |
A call with both running
Each one does its own part, at its own moment. A fuller bar means the tool covers more of it.
Before the call
Axelize
Covers this moment. Reads up on the account for you and writes a short brief.
Fathom
Does not cover this moment. Waits. It is not involved until the meeting begins.
During the call
Axelize
Covers this moment. Writes what you could say next, from the live captions, in your own words.
Fathom
Does not cover this moment. Sits in the meeting as a notetaker and transcribes everything.
After the call
Axelize
Covers part of this moment. Keeps the account record current and drafts your follow-up email.
Fathom
Covers this moment. Sends its summary and action items, and syncs to your CRM on the Business seat.
Run both in three steps
-
Keep Fathom on
Nothing about Fathom changes. Its notetaker joins as it does today and its free plan keeps working, so there is no migration and no cost to try the pair.
-
Add the Axelize extension
Install it from the Chrome Web Store, sign in, and turn captions on in Google Meet. Those captions are the only thing Axelize listens to.
-
Start your call as usual
Open the Axelize panel next to the meeting when the buyer joins. Fathom records in the background and Axelize works on the sentence in front of you.

Frequently asked questions
- Do Fathom and Axelize conflict?
- No. Fathom's notetaker is a participant in the meeting. Axelize is an extension in your own browser that reads the captions. They do not share data or depend on each other.
- Does Axelize replace Fathom's notes?
- No. Axelize is scoped to sales calls and keeps a transcript and action items for each one, but it does not try to be a notetaker for every meeting. Keep Fathom for that.
- Is Axelize worth paying for if Fathom is free?
- It depends on the problem. If you mainly need to remember what happened, Fathom already does it for free. If deals are slipping because of what gets said on the call, Fathom cannot help with that and Axelize can.
- Does Axelize work on the Zoom calls Fathom records?
- Not yet. Axelize works with Google Meet, and Zoom and Microsoft Teams are on the roadmap. Use it on your Google Meet calls for now.
