## Your target and rates

- **Quota** (starts at $400,000): The revenue target for the period.
- **Average deal size** (starts at $20,000): Use closed-won deals, not proposals.
- **Opportunities that close** (starts at 25%): Share of opportunities you win.
- **Meetings that become opportunities** (starts at 50%): Share of first meetings that are qualified.
- **Calls that become meetings** (starts at 10%): Share of calls that book a meeting.

## What it takes

- Calls needed
- Deals to close
- Opportunities needed
- Meetings needed
- Pipeline to build
- Pipeline coverage

## Example with the starting numbers

To close $400,000 you need 20 deals. At your rates that means 80 opportunities, 160 meetings and 1,600 calls, and about $1,600,000 of pipeline.

## How it works

### Enter the target and your rates

Quota, average deal size, and the share of calls, meetings and opportunities that move to the next stage for you.

### Read the funnel backward

From deals won back to opportunities, meetings and calls, rounded up because you cannot make part of a call.

### Check the pipeline you need

The pipeline value to build, and the coverage ratio your own win rate implies.

## Who it is for

SDRs, account executives and managers who plan activity against a target, and founders who want to know how many calls a quarter really takes.

## Every call counts more with the right next line

This tool tells you how many calls the target takes. Axelize helps each of those calls land, by writing your next sentence while the buyer is still talking.

## FAQ

### How do you calculate how many calls you need to hit quota?

Divide quota by average deal size to get deals. Divide deals by the win rate to get opportunities, those by the meeting-to-opportunity rate to get meetings, and meetings by the call-to-meeting rate to get calls. Round each step up.

### What is pipeline coverage?

Pipeline coverage is the value of open opportunities divided by the quota. With a 25% win rate you need four times the quota in pipeline. This tool derives it from your own win rate instead of a fixed rule of thumb.

### Which conversion rates should I use?

Use your own from the last two or three quarters, taken from the CRM. Rates from other teams or from articles vary a lot with the product, the market and the segment, and they will move the answer more than anything else on the page.

### Does this account for deals that slip or shrink?

No. It assumes your rates and deal size hold. If deals often slip to the next quarter or close smaller, lower the win rate or the deal size to match what you see.
